Libby retired in 1997 after working 34 years in the cafeteria of Oakwood Elementary School in Hannibal, serving several years as a manager.
She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, cooking large meals for her family and friends, and she especially loved chocolate. Libby often lovingly spoke of her nieces and nephews and was passionate about all of her grandchildren. She taught them how to play cards, took them on picnics and rescued them from weary parents for the weekend. Just this month, she taught her five-year-old great-great grandchildren how to identify coins. She will be remembered for carrying a purse containing anything you could possibly need in the moment.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to:
Community Loving Care Hospice, 1310 S. Business 61 Suite B, Bowling Green, Mo. 63334, in the name of Elizabeth Johnston.
