Mary Elizabeth Poling, 92, of Quincy, Ill. and formerly of Hannibal, passed away at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2020, at Sunset Home in Quincy, lll.
Graveside services and burial will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2020, at the Loraine Cemetery in Loraine, Ill. Brother Gregg Koelliker will officiate.
There will be no visitation.
Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of the James O’Donnell Funeral Home of Hannibal.
Mary was born Oct. 31, 1927, to Hurley Brown and Sylvia Deverger Brown.
She was married to Robert "Bob" Poling on Aug. 21, 1948, in Hannibal. He preceded her in death on May 8, 2019.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Failor of New London and Steven R. Poling (daughter-in-law, Pamela) of Liberty; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, David and William; one daughter, Brenda; four brothers and three sisters.
Professionally, Mary worked as an assembly line worker for the Motorola Company in Quincy, Ill. for over 20 years. Mary loved to travel and visited many places in the United States. She loved to volunteer and was very passionate about working with children.
Mary was a Christian by faith.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to Diabetes Research.
