Palmyra R-I Board of Education sets election filing dates

Fourth grade student Audrey Reid's design will serve as District Christmas card

PALMYRA — Members of the Palmyra R-I Board of Education approved filing dates for the April 7 election and selected a District Christmas Card designed by fourth grade student Audrey Reid during their regular meeting Tuesday, November 12.

The Board of Education election will take place Tuesday, April 7, and board members approved filing dates from Tuesday, December 17 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, January 21. The board also approved fourth grader Audrey Reid's design for the District Christmas card, with the runner-up card being designed by fellow fourth grade student Taven Serandos.

In other business:

  • Kinsey Cissna was approved for the role of English Language Coordinator for the 2019-2020 school year. 

  • Board members accepted the resignation of Parent Educator Jessica McNeff and hired Jessica Grainger and Cindy Stuhlman as Parent Educators. The board also hired Josh Edwards as District Technology Coordinator for the 2019-2020 school year. 

  • Board members approved the District Homeless Policy and the Building/Rental fee schedule for the 2019-2020 school year.

  • A request for early graduation was presented to board members.

The board's next regular meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 10.
