Two Hannibal youth wrestlers bring home awards

TULSA, Okla. | Two area youth wrestlers took home wrestling awards in “Toughest Tournament in the World” at the World of Wrestling Tulsa Nationals in January.

Over 2,000 wrestlers from over 40 states competed in this tournament, which was held at the Expo Square Pavilion at Tulsa, Okla.

Hunter Gauch brought home the coveted Eagle Trophy after earning first place at the tournament. He is the first youth wrestler in the history of Hannibal wrestling to take home this prestigious award.

Aidyn Bryant finished in sixth place out of 32 wrestlers and earned anaward. He was 6-3 in his matches at the tournament.

Both Hannibal-area wrestlers defeated top wrestlers from around the country, including some from Alabama, Arkansas, Kansas, New Mexico, Ohio and Oklahoma. The tournament lasted from Jan. 16-18.
