Scouting the Hornets: Fulton has struggled this season to score points, and keep opponents from putting up points. In the last four games, the Hornets have allowed 43.8 points per game while scoring just 22.5 points per game. The lone victory on the season was a 38-34 contest over Moberly on Sept. 20. In last week's NCMC loss to Marshall, the game was tied at 8-8 before the Owls rattled off 40 unanswered points to blow the game away. Fulton didn't have a drive longer than 20 yards in the second half.
Scouting the Pirates: Hannibal has seemed to find its rhythm with two straight victories over Mexico and Kirksville after starting the season 0-3. The offense is averaging 43.5 points per game after averaging just four points in the first three games. Junior running back Damien French had his breakout game last week in the victory over Kirksville has he ran for more than 200 yards on the ground and scored five touchdowns. The defense is still vulnerable to giving up big plays, like the long touchdown at the end of the first half last week, but are starting to make plays like a force fumble inside the red zone that stopped Kirksville's momentum.
