CAMDENTON, Mo. — The Hannibal boys soccer team had its chances to score in the first half.

The Pirates couldn't ind the net in the first half, but they didn't have to wait long in the second half.

In the 42nd minute, Hannibal's Nathan DeStefane fed a ball to Caleb Young, who slotted home a goal to break a scoreless tie in a 1-0 victory over Camdenton in the Laker Shootout Friday night.

That lead was threatened a few times by Camdenton

Camdenton's Wyatt Stamper had a shot in the 73rd minute that was saved by Hannibal goalkeeper Parker Terrill. He came up with another save three minutes later after stopping a shot from Josh Gerdimen.

Another shot by Gerdimen and one by David Grzegorcyzk missed the target. Terrill had four saves.

Hannibal had 14 shots in the game, but just two were on goal.
