Hannibal burglary suspects arrested one hour after crime reported

HANNIBAL – Two men were arrested Saturday in St. Louis one hour after a burglary was discovered in Hannibal and reported to law enforcement agencies.

Th Hannibal Police Department reported that on Saturday, Oct. 5, officers responded to a business alarm at Wireless Express on Diamond Blvd.

Officers found the business had been broken into and multiple items were missing. Surrounding agencies were notified of the burglary.

Approximately one hour later the Troy Police Department was in pursuit of the suspects from the Hannibal burglary. Tire deflation devices were utilized and the pursuit ended in Lake Saint Louis. Samuel Simpson, 38, and D'Vion C. Harris, 35, both of St. Louis, were taken into custody.

Items from the Hannibal burglary were recovered from the vehicle.

Warrants for Simpson and Harris were issued by the Circuit Court of Marion County.

Simpson and Harris were both charged with burglary second degree, stealing, possession of burglary tools and property damage. Their bond was set at $50,000, cash only. They were in the Lincoln County Jail on Monday.
