Prep tennis roundup: Palmyra advances, Hannibal falls

PALMYRA, Mo. – The Palmyra girls tennis team needed to complete just two singles matches on the way to beating Kirksville 5-0 in the semifinals of the Class 1 District 8 tournament Tuesday afternoon.

Palmyra advances to play Mexico in the championship.

Reagan Lehenbauer won her No. 3 singles match 6-0, 6-1 and Raegan Barnett won at No. 4 singles 6-0, 6-0 to finish off the victory.

Palmyra swept all three doubles matches.

Amy Bryan and McKenna Abbott won at No. 1 doubles 8-0, while Lehenbauer and Jansen Juette won 8-0 at No. 2 doubles.

Barnett and Katy Rindom won at No. 3 doubles 8-2.

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The Hannibal girls tennis team was swept 5-0 by Jefferson City in the Class 2 District 8 semifinals.

Jefferson City advances to face Helias for the district championship.
