Pirates fall in NCMC contest

HANNIBAL – The Hannibal softball team had just four hits in a 7-1 North Central Missouri Conference loss to Mexico Wednesday afternoon at Veterans Field.

The Bulldogs jumped on the Pirates early with three runs in the top of the first inning, highlighted by a two-run homer. Mexico scored four more in the fourth on a two-run single and a two-run double, which made it 7-0.

Hannibal’s lone run came in the bottom half of the fourth on Emily Wilson’s RBI single.

Hannibal pitcher Kylie McAfee was tagged with 13 hits, but just two of the seven runs allowed were earned.
