HANNIBAL – An early goal didn't fluster the Hannibal boys soccer team.

Nathan DeStefane proved that.

After Mexico scored 82 seconds into Thursday's North Central Missouri Conference game at Veterans Field, DeStefane tied the game four minutes later. It was his first of three goals on the night that sent the Pirates to a 3-1 victory.

The second goal came inside the first three minutes of the second half, which gave Hannibal a 2-1 lead. DeStefane completed the hat trick with five minutes remaining in regulation.

Hannibal took 20 shots, and nine were on goal. Keeper Parker Terrill made six saves.
