Palmyra's Hirner in 16th at state golf

NIXA, Mo. — Samantha Hirner shot a 91 for the Palmyra girls golf team in the opening round of the Class 1 state golf championships Monday at Fremont Hills Golf Course.

Hirner is tied for 16th place with Visitation's Lucille Trover. Both sit 18 shots behind leader Kayle Pftizner from Springfield Catholic.

Reigan Parsons is 51st after shooting a 110, and Mallory Comstock is 58th with 113.

Olivia Sublette carded a 117.
