Monroe City residents injured

David W. Lybarger, 22, and his passenger, Danielle M. Lybarger, 17, both of Monroe City, suffered minor injuries in an accident at 3:49 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, in rural Ralls County. Both were wearing seat belts.

They refused treatment for their injuries at the scene, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Officers said Lybarger was driving a southbound 2006 Ford on Route J .5 mile south of Route A when the vehicle went off the right side of the road.

He overcorrected, and the car went off the left side of the road and hit a ditch.

The state patrol was assisted at the scene by the Ralls County Sheriff’s Department, Monroe City Fire Department and Monroe County EMS personnel.
