HANNIBAL — A Hannibal man was arrested Sunday following the investigation into a disturbance call in the 100 block of North Maple.
Officers with the Hannibal Police Department were dispatched to the North Maple area in the early morning hours Sunday where a number of witnesses reported seeing a man, identified as Jydon Harnett, 26, of Hannibal approach a female victim and display a firearm, forcing the woman to the ground while making threats to harm her.
Harnett reportedly fled the scene before police arrived. Later Sunday evening, officers were able to locate Harnett at his home, taking him into custody without further incident. A firearm matching witnesses’ descriptions was also recovered from the residence.
The 10th Judicial Circuit of Marion County officially issued a warrant Monday for Harnett on charges of armed criminal action and two counts of felony harassment. As of Monday, Harnett remains in the Marion County Jail with a $30,000 cash-only bond.
