Jane Kidd, age 81, of Hannibal, Missouri, passed away at 8:24 a.m. on Monday, June 1, 2026, at her home.

Graveside services and inurnment will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Grand View Burial Park.

The family is being served by Grand View Funeral Home & Burial Park.

Jane was born on March 20, 1945, in Hannibal, Missouri, the daughter of Carl and Mary Voneta (Thompson) Elliott.

She was united in marriage to Teddy Kidd on November 5, 1976, in Hannibal. He preceded her in death on March 19, 2018.

Survivors include her children, Teddy Kidd of St. Louis, Missouri, Robin Kidd White of New London, Missouri, Dan Witthouse (Dana) of Quincy, Illinois, Lisa Downing (Steve) of Hannibal, Missouri, Angie Witthouse of New York, and Jennifer Smith (Chuck) of Hannibal, Missouri; grandchildren, Danny, Allie, Kevin, Del, Josh, Jake, Zach, Morgan, Brian, Holly, Charlie, and Kearsten; numerous great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jane was preceded in death by her sisters, Carolyn Gilbert and Shirley Sherman, and her grandson, Bobby Dean VanWinkle.

Jane graduated from Hannibal High School and obtained her cosmetology license. She later continued her education at Hannibal-LaGrange College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. She later obtained her child development associate certificate. Throughout her career, Jane worked at the Walmart Photo Lab and served as a preschool teacher for Early Head Start and St. John’s Lutheran School.

Away from work, Jane enjoyed writing, reading, painting, sculpting, and researching her family’s ancestry. Throughout her life, she participated in a bowling league and was a member of the Hannibal Writers Guild. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family and friends.

Jane was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Per Jane’s request, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Grand View Funeral Home.
