Carolyn Ann Scott, 88, of Lincoln, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026. She was born on June 4, 1938, in Tobias, Nebraska, to Edwin and Esther (Schoenbeck) Bartels. Carolyn’s foundational years and early milestones were centered at Zion Lutheran Church in Tobias, where she was baptized, confirmed, and married.

A devoted family woman, Carolyn faced profound losses with grace. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James A. Scott; her son, James E. Scott; her daughter, Kristen A. Plock; and her parents.

Her memory will be cherished by her surviving family, including her daughter-in-law, Priscilla Scott of Houston, TX; her son-in-law, Christopher Plock of Lincoln, NE; her cherished grandchildren, James H., Michelle, and Lauren Scott of Houston, TX, and Kamryn (Jacob) Fry of Lincoln, NE; and her brothers, Richard (Rafaella) Bartels of Lincoln, NE, and Aaron Bartels of Tobias, NE; and nieces and nephews.

Carolyn had a special heart for helping others. One of her greatest passions was supporting Phil’s Friends through her handmade cards and notes of encouragement. She lovingly created so many cards for the organization over the years that she lost count, bringing comfort and hope to countless individuals facing difficult circumstances.
