HANNIBAL | Senior Dances have been postponed at the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center due to illness.

The dances will begin again Sept. 23 and will be noon to 3 p.m. Wednesdays featuring the music of the Uptown Strings.

There have been senior adult dances at the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center for more than 45 years. Betty Parsons Miller has been playing for the entire 45 years, but the band members have changed.

About 30 people attend the weekly dances, at times there have been more than 100 participants. Some of the dancers have been participating for several decades.
