PALMYRA, Mo. | Larry B. Craig, chairman of the Marion County Republican Central Committee, has announced the committee's next quarterly meeting followed by a candidates forum will be held next week. The committee meeting will start at 6 p.m. Monday, July 20, in the Marion County Courthouse in Palmyra and the candidate's forum will start at 7 p.m.

The public is welcome to attend both meetings. Facial coverings or protective masks will be required to attend either meeting.

All candidates who have filled for state and county offices representing Marion County are invited to speak. Candidates who are expected to attend and participate in the candidate forum are state Rep. Louis Riggs of District 5; Marion County Sheriff Jimmy Shinn; Marion County Eastern District Commissioner Larry Welch; Western District commissioner candidates Eddie Bogue and Steve Begley; assessors candidates Mark Novak and Joshua Parson; Coroner Richard Jones; public administrator candidates Melonie Nevels and Wendy Howe; and County Surveyor John Janes.

“We hope that there will be a strong interest by the public in meeting all of the candidates and hearing what they hope to accomplish if selected to represent the Republican Party in Marion County,” Craig said.
