Palmyra R-I board reviews back to school plan

PALMYRA | Members of the Palmyra R-1 Board of Education discussed a back to school plan for the 2020-2021 school year during their regular meeting on Tuesday, July 14.

Board members approved increases for meal prices for the upcoming school year — 15 cents higher for student breakfast, 5 cents higher for student lunch, and 5 cents higher for adult breakfast and lunch. Board members also approved forms for free and reduced meals.

Superintendent Kirt Malone shared the progress of the Palmyra HighSchool athletic complex, which is set for completion in August.

Board members also reviewed handbooks for the district’s iPads, athletics/ activities programs, coaches and sponsors, student and administrative procedures and transportation guidelines.

The annual tax rate hearing will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 25.
