Paul and Claudia Buckman, of Hannibal, Missouri, are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with a celebration hosted by their children at a later time.

Mr. Buckman and the former Claudia Smoot were married April 3, 1970, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Palmyra, Mo.

Paul is a son of the late Leo and Pauline Buckman. Claudia is a daughter of the late Bob and Kathleen Smoot.

They are the parents of Brandon Buckman of Quincy, Ill. and Leigh Ann Bergman of Hannibal, Missouri. They have two grandchildren, Logan and Lucas Bergman of Hannibal, Missouri.

Paul was employed at Harris Corp. in Quincy for 34 years and Wright's Furniture for 10 years. He enjoys walking and working in his yard.

Claudia was employed as a radiologic technologist at Levering Hospital for 10 years and Program Director for the NECAC Family Planning and WIC program for 32 years. She enjoys time with her grandsons and reading and walking.

Mr. and Mrs. Buckman are members of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Hannibal.

HANNIBAL | On Thursday, June 4, at approximately 9:17 p.m. Hannibal police were dispatched to the 2100 block of Gordon Street to investigate a shooting. Upon arrival officers located a 45-year-old man who had been shot. The man was transported by the Marion County Ambulance to Hannibal Regional Hospital.
