HANNIBAL | The Marion County Health Department on July 6 reported four additional positive case of novel coronavirus (COVID-19): a male age 80 to 90 nursing home resident, currently hospitalized; a male age 40 to 50 quarantined at home; a female age 60 to 70 quarantined at home; and, a female age 20 to 30 quarantined at home. The total Marion County positive cases was 31 (five hospitalized), 25 active and six recovered.
The health department staff is working with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) to determine any close contacts of that individual who were possibly exposed. If there were any, health officials will provide guidance to these individuals and monitor them closely for the development of symptoms.
The Marion County Health Department urges the public to take appropriate precautions including good hygiene, social distancing, wearing a mask if you are unable to social distance, and limiting in-person interactions. If you are sick, particularly with a fever and a cough, or shortness of breath, stay home and contact your health care provider or urgent care center for guidance regarding symptoms and next steps.
