Marion County announces 18 new COVID-19 cases

HANNIBAL | The Marion County Health Department announced 18 new positive cases of novel coronavirus on Monday.

Seven of these new cases are males in the age range of 20 to 90, and 11 of the cases are females in the age range of 10 to 90, who are all quarantining at home.

Marion County has had a total of 305 cases, four current hospitalizations, 91 active cases, 207 recoveries and seven deaths. If you test positive, contact your local health department to confirm your phone number and address.

As of Monday, the state of Missouri has recorded 68,623 positive cases and 1,393 deaths.

Marion County Health Department staff are working in coordination with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services to conduct contact tracing of individuals who were possibly exposed. If there were any, health officials will provide guidance to these individuals and monitor them closely for the development of symptoms.

The Marion County Health Department urges the public to take appropriate precautions; including good hygiene, social distancing, wearing a mask and limiting in-person interactions. If you are sick, particularly with a fever and a cough, or shortness of breath, stay home and contact your health care provider or urgent care center for guidance regarding symptoms and next steps to take.
