HANNIBAL — The Hannibal Arts Council has named Hannibal High School student Kara Hinds as the recipient of the 2026 HAC Past Presidents Scholarship.
Hinds has demonstrated strong academic achievement and an exceptional commitment to the performing arts during her high school career. She has been actively involved in the school’s concert choir, earning selections to both the district and all-state choirs for multiple years. Additionally, Hinds has contributed her talents to school musical productions and worked behind the scenes on the stage crew for the River City Revue.
Outside of her artistic pursuits, Hinds is a member of the National Honor Society, the Rho Kappa National History Honor Society, and the Key Club.
This fall, she will attend the University of Missouri–Kansas City to major in vocal music education.
The HAC Past Presidents Scholarship is awarded annually to a Hannibal High School student who is actively involved in the arts and plans to pursue higher education or a career in a creative field, including the visual, theatrical, vocal, instrumental, dance, or literary arts. Funding for the scholarship is provided through memorial contributions given to the arts council in honor of loved ones.
