Missouri opens Fast Track workforce grant applications for 2026-2027 year

The Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development announced that applications for its Fast Track Workforce Incentive Grant are now open for the 2026-2027 academic year, offering financial assistance to adult students pursuing education in high-demand fields.
The grant covers tuition and fees, when combined with other government financial aid, for students enrolled in an eligible school or training program, along with associated apprenticeship costs such as tools, books, and uniforms.
“The Fast Track Workforce Incentive Grant completes a student’s financial package, making certificates, degrees, and industry-recognized credentials in a high-demand industries more accessible statewide,” Bennett Boggs, commissioner of the department, said in a statement. “This program’s impact continues to strengthen and lead to career pathways that help Missourians build prosperous futures and contribute to the state’s overall growth.”
Since launching in 2019, the program has helped thousands of students pay for education and training in fields including healthcare, computer science, transportation, and business and accounting, according to the department.
To be eligible, applicants must not have already earned a bachelor’s degree and must either be at least 25 years old or have not been enrolled in school within the past two years, along with meeting other program and income requirements.
Applicants can apply through the department’s State Financial Aid Portal. Applications must be submitted by May 15, 2027, to be considered for the 2026-2027 academic year. Students must also file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid, known as FAFSA, to be eligible for the grant.
