HANNIBAL — Hannibal-LaGrange University will welcome members of its Class of 1976 back to campus in September to mark their 50th class reunion and induct them into the university’s 50-Year Club, a tradition held annually during the school’s Family Weekend celebration.

Alumni from the Class of 1975 and earlier are also invited to attend the gathering. The 50-Year Club Luncheon is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 18, in the Page Dining Room inside the Partee Center.

The event gives alumni a chance to reconnect with classmates, according to the university, and will include lunch, a performance by the HLGU Concert Choir, an update on university happenings from President Robert Matz, a commemorative class photo with the Class of 1976, and a guided campus bus tour following the luncheon.

“We’re excited to welcome the Class of 1976 into the 50-Year Club while also celebrating with alumni who have been members of the club for many years,” said Lauren Youse, the university’s director of alumni relations. “This luncheon is a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with friends, celebrate God’s faithfulness through the years, and see firsthand how Hannibal-LaGrange continues to prepare students for lives of purpose and service.”

The luncheon is open to members of the Class of 1976, alumni from the Class of 1975 and earlier, and their guests. Tickets cost $30 per person, and the university is requesting reservations by Friday, Sept. 11.

The luncheon is part of the university’s broader Family Weekend celebration, which will include a block party, a disc golf tournament, a campus visit day, and other activities for alumni, students, and families. The weekend will also feature a Constitution Day event hosted by the Free Society featuring speaker Nick Freitas on Thursday, Sept. 17. Alumni interested in attending that event can contact the university’s alumni office for ticket information.

Those interested in RSVPing for the 50-Year Club Luncheon or learning more about Family Weekend can contact Youse at lauren.youse@hlg.edu or 573-629-3126.
