CLARKSVILLE — Community members will gather Aug. 22 for a benefit fish fry and silent auction to support Meredith Hipes, who is being treated for breast cancer, organizers announced.

The event will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Clarksville Boat Club, located at 310 S. 1st St. Tickets are $20 per person and include fried fish, baked beans, fried potatoes, and dessert.

A silent auction will run throughout the event, and organizers are seeking donations to support it. Suggested items include gift baskets, gift cards, event tickets, experiences, merchandise, and services. Anyone interested in donating an item can contact Scott Hipes at 573-754-0467.

Organizers said proceeds from meal sales, auction bids, and donations will go toward supporting Meredith Hipes and her family as she continues treatment.
