Local students present “Rapunzel” at The Legacy Theater

CARTHAGE — It is a whirlwind week for the cast of Rapunzel, to be presented at The Legacy Theater in Carthage Saturday, Aug. 1, at 12 p.m., and again at 2 p.m. Saturday. Elementary- through high school-aged students from this area auditioned for parts in the show Monday morning, July 27.

The cast was announced, and actors started learning their parts that same day.

Rehearsals continue each night, preparing for two performances on Saturday.

The show is directed by Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) from Montana. This is their fourth production at The Legacy Theater — casting, rehearsing, and presenting their show all in one week. The MCT touring production team comes complete with all the costumes, scenery, and props.

Playing the title character, Rapunzel, is local talent FaeAnn Leroy; Ethan Clark as the Prince; Emily Dixon as Madame Gothel; Brigham Nelson and Mariah Dixon as Rapunzel’s parents, Maurice and Monique.

Wood elves are Veronica Huffman, Ellie Whitaker, Madi Osborn, and Katherine Myers; Noah Nielson is the Troll; Lydia Myers and Evelyn Hall are the Ears of Corn; Joe Fravel is the Potato. Berkley Gunther and Harper Gray are the Unicorns; Baylor Gunther and Elspeth (Elsie) Pearson are the Pixies; William Johnson, Sirius Eagan, and Gabe Nielson are the Gremlins; and Taylor Skog, Jacob Coulter, and Emma Johnson are the Billy Goats Gruff.

The Three Bears and Beaver will be played by Sawyer Cole, Everley Van Vleet, Abby Brown, and Zoe Brown. The Ogres are Kennedy McKeown, Karly Woolson, Rowan Hall, and Johnny Johnson. Appearing as the Mushrooms are Conley Gunther and Lane Pearson.

For these shows, a child ticket (through age 12) is only $10. Adult tickets are $20.
